Because of both its range of technical publications, described on the Technical Publications page (and with its Journal spanning 60 years) and the extensive expertise and accumulated experience of its members, the Society possesses a strong and unique knowledge base in Dairy Science and Technology. Because of the existence of this information source, the Society is anxious to make it available, in the first instance, to its members and, subsequently, to non-members.
Thus, the Society has created a Technical Forum section as an integral part of its website, whereby interested members, and even non-members, can try to obtain answers to their technical problems. Initially, any such questions should be directed to the Executive Director at the SDT's office, (address details also provided in the Contact Us section).
The Executive Director will then forward the query to the most relevant SDT member, in terms of having the requisite knowledge in the area under question. In turn, this selected respondent will reply directly to the enquirer.
It is hoped to build up a portfolio of questions and answers; and the most general of these may subsequently be reproduced in a specific Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section of the website.
