Some Topical Environmental Issues

Mike Lewis was prompted to write an article on some environmental issues after attending our Autumn symposium, Annual Dinner and the ICDA awards in Stafford in October. It was the comments on how Carlsberg had reduced their water usage that initially sparked his interest. He is not an acknowledged expert in these areas but proposes that two principles of chemical engineering together with a more effective use of heat pumps might offer some solutions for reducing energy utilisation in dairy processing and CO2 in the environment. Some of these observations are his own ideas to promote debate and they may even be useful for making improvements in your home and factory.
